IBPI is the largest buying group in the Office Equipment Industry. Since our inception in 1987, we have built an outstanding reputation based upon the tremendous buying power we bring to our dealers.


Independent does not mean alone!

IBPI's Membership is composed of over 500 independent commercial copier & print dealers, as well as managed service providers, located throughout the United States and Canada. We are governed by a Board of Directors who are nominated and elected by our Members.

From the very beginning, the hallmark of IBPI has been to focus on negotiating deep discounts and quality rebate programs with the Industry's top manufacturers and service providers. By combining the buying power of our Membership, IBPI is able to provide pricing on products that are typically reserved for the biggest players. We have been known to even beat the bigger guys on pricing! Our services enhance our Member companies by strengthening their identity and independence in their marketplaces. At year-end, our Members often enjoy a better bottom line, and the potential for cash or credit rebates.

How We Began

In 1987, fifty-one independent dealers began envisioning an expansive potential for their businesses if they could just lower the cost of parts and supplies. They recognized that combining their buying power could make them more competitive in the Industry. While strengthening their cohesiveness and allegiance to one another through a membership program, they could still retain their separate identities, and increase their competitive edge. Thus, IBPI was formed. These entrepreneurial dealers began their negotiated pricing arrangements with 2 manufacturers. Today, those numbers have increased dramatically. There are now over 500 Members in IBPI, representing over $6 billion in annual sales-with over 30 Preferred Vendors. This makes IBPI the largest buying group in the Industry and we intend to stay that way! IBPI is an organization that continually upgrades and improves the quality and pricing of the products our Members offer and service.
