IBPI's membership is composed of over 400 independent commercial copier & print dealers located throughout the United States and Canada.  We are governed by a board of directors nominated and elected by their peers.

Focusing on negotiating deep discounts and quality rebate programs with the industry's top manufacturers and service providers has been the hallmark of IBPI since 1987.  By combining the buying power of our members, IBPI is able to provide pricing on the product that is usually reserved for the biggest players.  Sometimes, we even beat the bigger guys on pricing!  Our services enhance our member companies by enabling them to retain their identity and independence in their marketplaces.  At year-end, our members enjoy a better bottom-line, and the potential for cash or credit rebates.

How we began

In 1987, 51 independent dealers began discussing their potential, if they could just lower the cost of parts.  They recognized their combined buying power and how it could make them more competitive in the industry.  Those dealers saw the potential of retaining their separate identities, but through their allegiance, they capitalized on an opportunity to strengthen their competitiveness. These dealers began a buying group, and negotiated pricing arrangements with 2 manufacturers.  Today, those numbers have grown.  There are over 400 members in IBPI, representing over $5 billion in annual sales—with nearly 30 preferred vendors that comprise the largest buying group in the Industry. IBPI is an organization that continually upgrades and improves the quality and pricing of the products our members sell and service.
